Clint Schroeder joined Hagadone Printing Company in early 2010. Prior to becoming part of the Hagadone family, Clint served as Vice President of Sales/Advertising/Marketing for Gannett Co, Inc at The Honolulu Advertiser. Clint relocated from Chicago to Hawaii in 2006 to take the post for GCI at Hawaii’s largest newspaper. At the time, Clint was the Vice President of Advertising for the NorthWest News Group of Greater Chicago, a subsidiary of Shaw Newspapers. Clint brings 15 years of media, publishing, marketing, and commercial printing experience with him to Hagadone Printing. Working previously in the Denver and Chicago metro markets, Clint’s experience with franchise protection, associate development, brand management, and market share improvement for his own company and those of his clients is expansive. Clint has also served as the executive director for Mountain Ad Managers (Denver, CO), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable training opportunities to small and mid-sized daily and weekly newspapers in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Nebraska. In 2005, Clint was named to the Newspaper Association of America’s Presstime magazine’s “Top 20 Under 40.” Clint’s industry service has included various positions on state press association boards and committees in Wyoming, Colorado, Illinois and Hawaii. He was also on the strategic foundation committee for ChicagoJobs.com, the first newspaper consortium recruitment Internet sites in the United States. Clint’s community involvement has been extensive, serving on several local boards and committees. His current organizational involvement includes Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI) where he serves as the International Vice-Chairman, and locally as Honolulu Chapter President. Clint also serves on the Metropolitan Honolulu Rotary Board of Directors as President-Elect. Almost immediately after joining Hagadone Printing, Schroeder and the local Operating Committee noted an immediate need to launch a new more comprehensive service network for the 3,000 active Hagadone clients. The division, H1, has been established to connect local clients with local solutions. Included in the new portfolio are services such as image refinement, corporate identity, message management, strategic planning, public relations and alternative marketing. The H1 network also offers website development and refinement, search engine optimization, iPhone and iPad app development, social media solutions, and SmartPhone message management. By tapping into the local network of highly skilled designers, content providers, developers, and e-commerce experts, Hagadone can now provide its client base with e-Solutions not easily accessible to small and mid-range clients. “Over the past three years, many of our clients have been faced with difficult decisions with regard to staffing, marketing budgets and general reductions. Subsequently, our clients’ materials, websites and collateral have become dated and less effective. Our intention is to provide low-cost, local solutions to our commercial and agency clients, allowing them to fully utilize the talent here in Hawaii, with the same convenience and quality assurance they currently enjoy through Hagadone Printing.” Schroeder stated. “These new services are a logical extension to the materials and collateral that we assist our clients with on a daily basis. As a printer, we are often included in the final stages of a campaign’s roll-out, and we have observed that many of our customers—particularly smaller ones—could greatly benefit from a higher level of strategic planning in the earlier stages of the campaign when tactics, image, messaging, and branding are being formed.” Schroeder has forged comprehensive partnerships to provide the marketing know-how his clients have been searching to secure. He stresses that the role of H1 is not to replace a traditional ad agency; rather, it is to aid the smaller customer who typically does not have an agency to assist them in creating a cohesive marketing plan that includes a variety of effective elements. The H1 division acts as a “One Stop – One Source” clearing house for Hagadone’s clients from quality assurance, job trafficking, deadline monitoring, and final product delivery, to invoicing, cost control and account/credit establishment. “We want to demonstrate that while we intend to grow and diversify, we also intend to remain committed to the strong economic and environmental principles that govern the company. The development and launch of the H1 Division allows our clients to have a positive impact on the local economy, an initiative that is good for the State of Hawaii, our friends, families, and futures,” says Schroeder. Clint graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BA in Political Science and the New York Institute of Technology/Cardean University with an Executive MBA. Clint is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt, and holds SMEI’s Certified Sales Executive (CSE) and Certified Marketing Executive (CME) distinctions.
