Email, however, is rarely the preferred way to send files electronically. Email is suitable for small attachments, such as font files or last-minute type corrections, but for larger files, such as images or page layouts, the preferred choice is FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

With email, your message and attachments get bounced from computer to computer, each time taking a different and unpredictable route. Depending on which computers are involved in the process, limitations may be imposed, and the speed at which the files are sent may be much slower than expected. This makes the whole process unpredictable and unreliable, sometimes preventing the file transfer from taking place altogether. With FTP, your files take a much more direct route—from your computer to ours—without having to deal with third-party computers, making it much more reliable.

When sending files via email or FTP, please call your Sales Executive or Customer Service Representative, to let them know the files are on their way; they'll check to make sure the files have been received as expected. Also, be sure to let us know that the files are yours, by placing them in a folder, titled with your Company Name. When sending files via email, simply type your Company Name in the message area.
