Sun Chemical and its subsidiaries through its Sun Care program operate under the core belief that we are responsible for and caretakers of the environment we share with our fellow citizens. As such it is our policy to manufacture our products using the safest and most environmentally responsible raw materials possible.

The NAI Publications Division which manufactures and supports the Heatset Web printing markets with its Kohl & Madden brand, wherever possible utilizes renewable and environmentally responsible raw materials. In this regard all of our key inks are made using a variety of vegetable oils that are proprietarily blended to ensure extremely high print quality.
Depending on application, the renewable ingredients can contain but are not limited to resin, rosin, soy oil, and natural linseed oils. These ingredients typically makes up 15-20% of the formula.

When asked specifically about our use of soy oils our response has been that while we do formulate with some soy oils where appropriate, there has been a decline in the interest in soy used as a primary source oil for ink vehicles. As you can see from the above information, Sun Chemical and the ink industry in general has been using other renewable resource oils for a very long time.
